Since 2008 River of Life Professional Counseling LLC has been a provider of continuing education for mental health professionals in Ohio.  Currently we are pre-approved by the state of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board to provide continuing education for LSW, LISW, LISW-S, LPC, LPCC, and LPCC-S in Ohio.  Just 4 easy steps: 1) Complete the registration form for courses you wish to take, 2) Pay for courses, 3) Listen to the audios/videos, and 4) Take the home study test.

About Us

River of Life Professional Counseling LLC was founded in 2004 by director Michele D. Sparks, LPCC.  After working for other colleagues' private practices and for agencies in the Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio areas Michele was given an opportunity to start her own practice.  Michele's vision for River of Life has been on providing compassionate care within reach for children, families, adults, and groups.  Her goal was to create a practice where clients could get services with genuineness and sincerity, professionalism, and practical direction in skill building for addressing clients' presenting issues. 

Michele D. Sparks has a background in teaching and Counseling Psychology.  She obtained her master's degree in Counseling Psychology in 1995 from Loyola College (now University) in Maryland and did post graduate work at The University of Cincinnati from 1996-1998.  Since 1997 Michele has been walking alongside clients in their healing journeys providing support and instilling hope through professional clinical therapeutic relationship.  Since 1995 she has authored several mental health resources including The Counseling Corner Newsletter and The Christian Counseling Newsletter as well as the books Sanctuary: A  Shelter For Your Soul and In Your Darkest Hour: Hope For The Hopeless, Broken, and Suicidal.  She has been a consultant throughout Ohio for schools, physicians, hospitals , businesses, and social service agencies with informed consent for optimal client care.  Since 1998 Michele has provided continuing education to mental health professionals in Ohio. She is passionate about ensuring that professionals working in the mental health field have the latest info in terms of research, efficacious techniques, and practical applications.  River of Life Professional Counseling LLC CEU courses are currently approved by the state of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, and Marriage and Family Therapist Board for LSW, LISW and LISW-S, LPC, LPCC, and LPCC-S in Ohio.
